Graphic novel 'Years of the Elephant' nominated twice for Eisner Award (12/04/2010)
Willy Linthout was nominated twice for an Eisner-award, the highest recognition in the world of comic strips, cartoons, and graphic novel for the English translation of his book 'Years of the Elephant'. Linthout is best known as the author of the graphic novel Urbanus. 'Years of the Elephant' received a bronze Adhemar award in Flanders in 2009.
'Years of the Elephant' tells the story of a man who is trying to cope with his son’s suicide. The story is based in part on autobiographical facts. The book was nominated in two categories: 'Best US Edition of International Material’ and 'Best writer/artist Nonfiction.The results in all categories will be announced in a gala awards ceremony on the evening of Friday, July 23 at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
